Ypsilanti man arrested after argument over money ends in domestic violence

An argument over money that allegedly spiraled into a domestic assault Saturday landed a 34-year-old Ypsilanti resident in jail.
Ypsilanti police say the man assaulted his wife, 31, during the argument at a residence on the 1300 block of Washtenaw Avenue.
No injuries were reported.
The couple’s three children were present during the incident, which took place around 2:15 p.m. Saturday, police said.
The suspect was processed at the Ypsilanti Police Department and lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.

AnnArbor.com's policy is to only identify a suspect's race as part of a more complete description, including what they were wearing, city of residence and other factors, and this brief obviously does not fit the bill. I was unaware of the policy when I wrote this but have made the change. I regret the error, but at any rate I included it only as a detail and not out of any malicious intent.

You put the address link for the home invasion story into this story. We would like to see it corrected for this story. The link is correct on the other story. I'm glad it didn't take us to the 1300 block of Washtenaw Avenue instead.

annarbor.com you should flag your own article as racist and hate speech. Like arieswoman says, no need for reporting on the color of a criminal. If it were reversed there would be 150 comments.

stating skin color is not racist or hate speech...it's a description...are you ashamed of your skin color? i agree that according to annarbor.com's very own policies they should remove it but it is nowhere near hate speech.

I just do not understand your reporting on this incident. There is no reason to say what his skin color is at all. I personally don't care! This was not an important fact for the story.
