Flatscreen TV stolen from Ypsilanti Township home
By Julie Baker
A flatscreen TV was stolen early Saturday from a home in the 1400 block of Village Lane in Ypsilanti Township, according to a media summary from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators believe the burglary happened in the early daylight hours, and entry was gained by forcing open the front door, the summary said. The home was ransacked.
No arrests have been made, and the case is under investigation.

Can we get the word out that "flatscreen" is now essentially a meaningless distinction? (It's also almost always meant to mean flat panel, which it is not in fact a synonym for, altho all flat panel monitors are flatscreens). If someone steals a non-flatpanel tv, that would be worth pointing out

Too much of this going on in the last couple weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if the breakins are done by the same few. I suggest that folks keep reciepts, take all numbers off of the item and store them in a safe place. Tag #, serial # ect that are on the back of TV's and bottom of laptops. It the theif is stealing to re-sell (and some are) you will know what is yours if found.
