Intoxicated man arrested after attempting to break into occupied Ypsilanti apartment

By Kyle Feldscher

A 42-year-old man was arrested after he broke a window in an attempt to enter an occupied apartment early Friday morning, according to Ypsilanti police.

Ypsilanti police officers were dispatched at 1:10 a.m. Friday to the 700 block of Harriet Street for a report of a man who had broken a window trying to enter an apartment where he believed he knew the residents, police said. In fact, the people who lived there did not know the man, according to police.

The residents of the apartment scared the man off and he was arrested a few blocks away, police said. The man appeared to be highly intoxicated, according to police.

The man was taken to the Ypsilanti Police Department, processed and released pending charges, police said.

I wonder where he went after being released? Good catch Ypsilanti Police! If the suspect thought he knew the residents, why would he break a window to get in? (smells fishy)
