Intruder breaks into Ypsilanti Township home, drives off in resident's car
An intruder broke into an Ypsilanti Township home, stole several items and then drove off in the homeowner’s car, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies said.
The resident of the home in the 300 block of North Hewitt Road called police Wednesday to report the crime. It’s believed the break-in occurred sometime during the previous day, police said.
The intruder broke into the home through a side door, police said. Several items were stolen and the resident’s 2001 Ford Focus station wagon was missing, police said. It had been parked in the driveway outside the home.
A complete list of the stolen items was not available Thursday morning.
No suspect information was available as of Thursday morning and the incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 734-973-7711.
