Police arrest two women during prostitution sting in Ypsilanti Township
Two women were arrested Wednesday in Ypsilanti Township on charges of prostitution during a Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office vice sting, police said Thursday.
Police arrested a 39-year-old woman at about 5:30 p.m. near East Michigan Avenue and Campbell Street, according to police.
The next arrest came a little more than five hours later when deputies arrested a 33-year-old woman near East Michigan Avenue and Wiard Road in Ypsilanti Township.
Copies of both police reports are being sent to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Police arrested a 45-year-old Ypsilanti woman at East Michigan Avenue and Wiard Road on Feb. 16 during a similar operation.

Street walkers, really. The Marriot on Ford Lake was full of high end hookers this week, the cops should be monitoring these instead of underprivileged woman.

Prostitution is bad!! Don't blame people for committing crimes. I am a college graduate and cannot find any livable wage jobs. The politicans in Washington D.C. sold us out to free trade. This do not give many Americans the option not to commit crimes to survive. Crime will be more and more common as the economy gets worst and the common man cannot make a honest living. Prostitution rings will be more common as we move into 2013 and beyond. The politicans in Washington D.C. are responsible for this problem of human trafficking, prostitution, and prostitution rings by not protecting American jobs. What should those people done? Do not commit the crime and get kick out of their living quaters for not paying rent. The government will not pay their rent and waste it on foreign aid and wars. Police is sending us a message that they want us to be homeless saints. Most Americans will not buy this and may engage in crimes to survive. Police is just to oppress the poor while let the rich enjoy their high class prostitutes like models and sugar children.

dude, if people dont have money, why are they PAYING for sex? People have money. Even poor people. What they don't have is a sense of priority. Street walkers' customers are probably 100% low income people. As mentioned above, higher income people are smarter about how they pay for sex. Dont cry about these people not having money, when they spend "their" money on prostitutes

These women need to get Henri Leclerc to defend them. He's defending Dominic Straus-Kahn in a prostitution investigation: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/320036 Here's his defense: "He could easily not have known, because as you can imagine, at these kinds of parties you're not always dressed, and I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman,"

That intersection seems to be prostitute central! Of course, if they assign police to harass the prostitutes to move, they'll just move somewhere else. It's a shame that society cannot figure out a more rational way to handle this. There are always going to be some people who crave sex outside of marriage, and there are always going to be men and women willing--through poverty or simply desire-- to provide this. Poor people are usually the victims of this whereas high class "escort services" provide such entertainment for the wealthy. Street corner prostitution destroys neighborhoods, and the lives of the johns and the prostitutes. It's a shame that we cannot stop the victimization of everyone and find, as I said, a more rational, disease free way to solve this age old problem. Of course, the evangelical blue noses would put a stop to any sort of "rational" solution.

that area actually isnt nearly as bad as it used to be re: prostitutes. You used to be able to see them all day long, out in front of Burger King pretty much constantly. While these "stings" probably waste a ton of money and dont really solve the problem, at least they have cleaned up the obviousness of it all. and i agree with the above comment. Why are the johns the only ones getting named on the county websites? Why arent the women as well?

Society has figured out a way to handle this, just not a a lot of society. Nevada has allowed the establishment of brothels, though they're way out in the boonies, for the most part. Germany provides a better example by not only allowing them, but monitoring brothels for the safety of provider and customer, alike.
