Police release more details on Ypsilanti Township stabbing Monday night
A 20-year-old Ypsilanti Township man was stabbed in a parking lot in the 200 block of Ford Boulevard Monday night, suffering non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Derrick Jackson said Tuesday morning that deputies responded to the victim’s home in the 1900 block of Chevrolet Street, where he was found with multiple stab wounds.
The man had been stabbed in the parking lot on Ford Boulevard and then went to his home before calling 911, Jackson said.
Initial reports from Ypsilanti Township firefighters indicated crews were sent to the home in the 1900 block of Chevrolet Street for a report of a stabbing.
Huron Valley Ambulance spokeswoman Joyce Williams said Tuesday that the ambulance service transported the man to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in unstable condition Monday night. She said she could not release where he was stabbed and was not aware of his current condition.
Jackson said the man was stabbed following an argument with someone else in the parking lot. The suspect immediately fled the area and police have no description to release of the suspect at this time, he said.
The investigation into the stabbing is on-going, Jackson said.

Okay, wait a second here. The fire department is located at 222 Ford Blvd, why didn't he just go there? Seems an awful lot closer than his place in West Willow....

Let me jumpstart the usual annarbor.com suspects with regards to incidents of this kind: Second Amendment, knife to gunfight, not on my watch and so forth and so on. Let the testosterone flow.

The parking lot of what? I will celebrate the day when the Ypsi Township will fund their police at the same rate that the Ypsilanti City residents have traditionally done.

Well, sorry to hear about the stabbing BUT, I'm glad that the story was corrected to reflect the actual injuries DID NOT occur in West Willow.

"She said she could not release where he was stabbed ..." An age-old problem. Reminds me of the great repartée from the movie "The Thin Man" (1933) Nick: "I'm a hero, I was shot twice in the Tribune." Nora: "I read you were shot five times in the tabloids." Nick: "It's not true. He didn't come anywhere near my tabloids."
