Ypsilanti police investigate reported sexual assault

By Lee Higgins

A woman reported Tuesday morning that she was forced to do heroin and sexually assaulted during the night at a home in the 100 block of North Summit Street, Ypsilanti police said.

The 18-year-old woman reported the assault at 11 a.m., police said. At some point, she went to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, police Lt. Paul DeRidder said.

She told investigators that she was able to sneak out of the home Tuesday morning after being sexually assaulted by a man police have not been able to identify. DeRidder said he couldn't discuss details because of an ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information can call police at (734) 483-9510.

Forced to do heroin? Oh my, seems like she was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Glad she got to the hospital, (matters not how she got there) Hopefully she can remember who forced her to take the heroin, and who assaulted her. I'm certain the Ypsilanti will stay on this until they find the suspedt.
