Ann Arbor was heavily represented during a world record-setting effort at the under-23 rowing world championships this weekend in Amsterdam.

Grace Luczak, an Ann Arbor native, teamed with University of Michigan senior-to-be Felice Mueller to win the women’s pair gold medal, beating second-place Romania by three boat lengths.

The duo’s time of 7:05.13 was helped by a 25 mile-per-hour tailwind.

Mueller and Luczak, who recently graduated from Stanford, were also part of the United States’ bronze medal-winning women’s eight.

Many congratulations to Grace and Felice! These rowers put in an absolute TON of hard work to compete at this level. So, it's great to see it pay off.
