Eastern Michigan basketball team tops Radford, snaps 5-game skid
Senior guard Quintin Dailey’s career high 13 points Tuesday helped the Eastern Michigan basketball team end a five-game losing streak with a 52-48 victory at Radford.
Eastern, 5-6, relied on 3-pointers, as Dailey was 3-of-4 from long range and the Eagles made seven of 15 3-pointers.
Da’Shonte Riley, a 7-foot center, made his debut with Eastern, scoring eight points and grabbing four rebounds. Riley transferred from Syracuse, but wasn’t granted an NCAA eligibility waiver until this week.
Eastern is at Virginia Tech on Thursday.
Eastern Michigan women: Sophomore guard-forward Natachia Watkins scored 28 points and had nine rebounds Tuesday, but the Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team lost in overtime to Detroit, 70-69. The Titans held Tavelyn James to nine points, well off her 25.1-per-game average. Eastern, 6-4, has lost three o its last four games.
