Former Detroit Lions' lineman Barry Stokes to be part of book handout
The National Football League Players Association has donated 20,000 books to Washtenaw County high school students, and former Eastern Michigan and Detroit Lions lineman Barry Stokes will be part of the festivities.
Stokes will hand out books at Ypsilanti High School on Thursday at 3 p.m., highlighting the donation of the books. Most of the books are mystery novels from Poisoned Pen Press, according to the Michigan Education Association.
After Thursday's event, teachers and staff from around the county will pick up books to distribute at their individual schools.
