Henry Do (fr.), Greenhills: Just a freshman, Do touted the lowest nine-hole average (36.8) and the most medalist wins (seven) in Washtenaw County. The AnnArbor.com Player of the Year was the medalist at an MHSAA Division 4 district (with a 4-under 68) and regional (3-under 68) before capping his season at the state finals, tying for third individually with a 36-hole total of 151. Do helped the Gryphons finish fourth as a team. He was named to the Division 4 All-State team and was an MIAC All-Conference selection.

Nolan Maezes (sr.), Pioneer: Maezes was the senior catalyst for the Pioneers, who went undefeated in league matches before finishing second in the SEC Red after the conference tournament. The senior shot an area-best 74 at a Division 1 district tournament to lead the Pioneers to second-place finish. Maezes’ 37.3 average earned him six top-10 finishes in tournament play and five total medalist positions. He finished as an All-SEC Red honoree and earned the team’s Senior Award and MVP.

Peter Spittler (sr.), Saline: In his final season, Spittler penciled in four medalist scores and had three runner-up finishes, including a No. 2 finish after a playoff with Huron’s Alex Wunderlich in the SEC Red championships. The senior’s team-leading 77 at the D1 district tournament pushed the Hornets into third place and a spot at regionals. Spittler, who carried a 40.2 average, was named All-SEC Red, made the all-tournament team at the Traverse City Invitational and was named Saline’s MVP.

Nik Stetler (jr.), Manchester: Stetler qualified as an individual for the Division 3 state finals, where he shot a 170 to finish tied for 49th. Alex Wunderlich (sr.), Huron: The senior’s season was punctuated by a playoff win at the SEC Red Division championships, where he edged out Saline’s Peter Splitter to take medalist honors and give Huron a league crown. The senior, who also was medalist at the Adrian Invitational, was the only member of his team to shoot a sub-80 at districts (77), helping Huron take fourth and advance to regionals. Wunderlich was named All-SEC Red. His match average was 38.3.

Coach of the Year Bill Ammerman, Greenhills: Led the young Gryphons to Division 4 district and regional championships with 27- and 28-stroke victories, respectively.
