According to the Michigan HIgh School Tennis Coaches Association, she was the best regardless of Division.
Hanna was given the 2013 MHSTeCA Miss Tennis award over the weekend. She was up for the award against candidates from each division, Elaine Apaza of Birmingham Marian (D2), Sydney Liggins of Grand Rapids Catholic Central (D3) and Division 4 No. 1 singles champion Meika Ashby of Kalamazoo Hackett.
Hanna was 36-0 on the season and only lost single set all year. Outside of the match where she lost a set, Hanna never surrendered more than two games in a set. She will play at Nebraska next year. Hanna is the first athlete to win the award from Washtenaw County since Pioneer's Jessica Seyferth won in 2006. Pioneer's Kevin Hayward was Mr. Tennis in 2005.
Hanna also recently earned All-America honors from the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation. She was one of 34 players to receive the award and one of three from Michigan.
