Skyline shuts out Milan; Huron, Saline and Father Gabriel Richard also advance

With the win, the Eagles advance to the semifinals, where they will play Ypsilanti on Thursday in the late game at Chelsea High School. Chelsea and Tecumseh will play in the other semifinal.
Carmen Flesher had a goal and an assist to lead Skyline, scoring just four minutes into the second half to put Skyline up 2-0 and assisting on Alex Tennant's goal with 20 minutes to go in the game.

Rachel Johnston scored what proved to be the game winner with five minutes remaining in the first half on a misplayed corner kick.
Tori Norris recorded the shutout in net for Skyline with three saves.
DIVISION 1 AT LINCOLN The Huron High School girls soccer team cruised into their district semifinals with an 8-0 win over Lincoln on Tuesday. Meg Boyer scored three goals to lead the River Rats. Casie Ammerman and Beth Boyer added two goals apiece.

"(Lincoln) did a good job when they were still running in the first half," Huron coach Reese Richardson said. "In the second, we overwhelmed them. We didn't look past this game. The girls came out poised and ready to play and we executed the game plan."
Huron will play Saline in a semifinal Thursday. The River Rats beat Saline, 1-0, in a league game May 25.
"We're going to come out poised and ready for the fast attack," Richardson said. "We're just going to make sure we're ready to run. (Saline) likes to play a fast-paced game and we anticipate we'll have a lot of pressure on us. We feel prepared to give it our best effort."
DIVISION 1 AT TEMPERANCE-BEDFORD TEMPERANCE - Kayla Kouba, Jori Bitter, Emilee Kaminski, Autumn Jacobs, Meghan Stephens and Maghan O'Neil each scored a goal for Saline in its 6-0 win at Temperance Bedford on Tuesday.
Renee Price made one save for the Hornets, punching the ball over the net mid-way through the second half, to secure a shut out.

"I'm very proud of our team because the last three games of our season were 1-0 loses to rivals," Saline coach Dana Restrick said. "We played very well. Postseason is kind of our second season and this was a great way to start it off."
The Hornets will play Huron in a Thursday semifinal.
"Huron's a good team," Restrick said. "It will be a competitive battle. We just need to make some minor adjustments."
DIVISION 3 The Father Gabriel Richard girls soccer team spread the love in its the opening round of districts, with five different players contributing points in a 3-0 win over Jackson Lumen Christi.
Natalia Collins, Martha Sorenson and Mary Yocum each scored goals for the Irish, while Sarah Falvey and Sarah Foeller contributed assists.

"I asked the girls to play really hard and they rose to the occasion," said Gabriel Richard coach Matt Carrol. "We controlled possession throughout the game."
Anna Zekany had four saves for the shutout in net. Gabriel Richard advances to play Brooklyn Columbia Central on Thursday. Columbia Central beat Hanover-Horton 8-0 on Tuesday.
