Hot-shooting Texas Southern beats Eastern Michigan basketball team, 66-49
The Eastern Michigan men’s basketball couldn’t keep up with a hot shooting night by Texas Southern on Tuesday night.
The Tigers made 64-percent of their shots from the floor - and nearly 60-percent from 3-point range - and won 66-49 in an Auto Owners Spartan Invitational game in Houston.
Darrell Lampley was the only Eastern Michigan (1-1) player in double-figure scoring totals. He finished with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from 3-point range.
Detroit native Lawrence Johnson-Dannere scored 20 points for Texas Southern (1-1), which made 13 of 22 shots from 3-point range.
The Eagles host Arkansas-Little Rock Friday in their second game of the four-game Auto Owners Spartan Invitational.
