Michigan lacrosse coach John Paul named Lacrosse Magazine's 'Person of the Year'
The Michigan men's lacrosse team hasn't yet played an official varsity game. But the Wolverines' head coach, John Paul, has earned a big distinction.
Lacrosse Magazine named Paul its Person of the Year for 2011.
The magazine noted that the Ann Arbor native built Michigan's club lacrosse team "into a powerhouse," but that "it was his tireless leadership and work behind the scenes with university administrators, lacrosse alumni and boosters that paved the way for the athletic department's historic May 25 announcement to sponsor NCAA Division I lacrosse beginning in the 2011-12 academic year."
