Ashleigh Shanley had a choice to make.

Should she follow her older sisters through high school swimming's version of the New York Yankees or be part of building the city of Ann Arbor's third prominent program.

Now a freshman at Skyline High School, Ashleigh chose option B.

"I have friends at Pioneer and Skyline, so it was a difficult decision," she says. "But I realized it was a good opportunity to go to Skyline and be one of the classes to build the team up. I just feel like because it's a new school, it's a great opportunity."

Skyline coach Maureen "Mo-Jo" Isaac says the playing field is being evened out across Washtenaw County because many of the names on her roster would have been Pioneer swimmers. But, she quickly adds, "if anyone can weather that hit, it's Denny." (Rest of the Story)
