Manny Harris announced his decision to leave U-M early in order to enter his name into the NBA draft during a press conference at the Junge Family Champions Center on U-M's campus on March 29, 2010.

Manny Harris had his first pre-NBA draft workout Friday, showcasing his skills for the Houston Rockets. Harris told the Detroit Free Press that it was "a good experience for not knowing what to expect."

While others may be regretting their decisions to test the draft waters, Harris tells the Free Press that he's had no regrets whatsoever, and that he's hoping to dispel notions that came from his one-game suspension last year after a practice incident.

Here's the full story from Mark Snyder in the Detroit Free Press.

I think Manny was between a rock and a hard place. Not happy at UM, poor chemistry with his teammates (and some of that is *his* fault), needs to get better to make it in the NBA but not likely to improve much staying at UM. Needs a different coach, different environment, different attitude. Too bad -- lots of talent. Unfortunately for everyone involved, I think the UM team will be better off without Manny. Hope he makes it somewhere.

Alas.. I am much more positive for Wolverine basketball next year. If everyone else has lower expectations for this team and the departure of Manny.. there may be a new team chemistry. And who knows which player(s) will step up. The options are wide open. Anyway being positive is more fun than being negative.. GO BLUE! :+}

Being positive is the way he needs to think.... I hope he is right. BUT.... watching him play later in the season leads me to believe he left the program too early. Still I wish him well.

Of course he made the right decision. When the ship is sinking you get off the boat! What possible reason would he have for coming back?????

Manny wants a chance to better himself and another year on a team they won't even make the NIT wouldn't help. U of M HAS to get rid of these West Virgina coaches especially the so call king (last place Big Ten)
