Michigan women's basketball team puts unbeaten record against No. 6 Maryland tonight

By AnnArbor.com Staff

The Michigan women’s basketball team is 7-0 for just the second time in school history, but still hovering just outside the top 25 in both major polls.

What will it take to get the Wolverines into the national rankings? A win tonight at Maryland would certainly do the trick.

Michigan plays the No. 6-ranked Terrapins (7-0) in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game. The game tips off at 7 p.m. with a live audio feed available at MGoBlue.com.

Coach Kevin Borseth said he’s not yet concerned with the lack of attention from pollsters.

“If you’re in the top 25 at the end of the year, it means you’ve done something,” Borseth told the Michigan Radio Network after his team’s three-game sweep at the Paradise Jam over Thanksgiving weekend.

“We’re out to a fast start, which is really good. Certainly it’s great for our confidence. Our kids are going to want to be able to keep that up.”
