Charles Woodson speech inspires inscription inside his first Super Bowl ring
When Charles Woodson and the rest of the Green Bay Packers received their Super Bowl rings in a private ceremony at Lambeau Field on Thursday, the leadership the Heisman Trophy winner from Michigan provided was etched inside.
According to The Associated Press, words from one of Woodson's postgame speeches -- when he urged teammates to play with one mind, one goal, one purpose and one heart -- inspired the inscription inside the ring.
Woodson told the AP that it was a proud moment, but he kept his emotions in check:
"I held it back," Woodson said. "I cried enough this year, so I held it back. But it was definitely an emotional moment, a moment that I waited a long time for. And finally, it's here. I get to hold up a championship ring."
Because of the NFL lockout, Thursday's ceremony was the first time the Packers have been together since the days following their 31-25 Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dallas. The Packers got special permission from the NFL to hold the ceremony.

Hey Jim Tressel: Now this is what an honest, champion Athlete - Scholar should look like. Too bad there's none like this down there in Ohio State Prison... I mean, "university." One mind, one heart, one goal, one Wolverine!!
