Folks need to be aware that this may be a case of a much smaller disputed Income Tax amount (say, $75,000) that has become $1.48 Million over time with the IRS' compounded interest and penalties added on. I'm also not sure why this is newsworthy....

Wow, what an incomplete story. Are you guys just posting half-baked, half-hearted attempts at news just to put up another headline? Sorry for being harsh, but please go into depth as to where the person was employed during the time he supposedly did not pay taxes. I can assume by the lofty tax bill that he may be a current or former professional athlete. For what teams did he play? Any other pertinent information would be great.

How does someone that played a total of 3 NFL games with the lions rack up $1.48 million in federal taxes?

I doubt his debt comes from his business activities while at Michigan. Why doesn't headline say another professional athlete demonstrates inability to handle their wealth ?

Why is this news? It's a personal business matter between him, his creditors, and the IRS. Besides, thousands of unfortunate people are in the same situation and you don't see articles about them. Start posting articles that have some bearing on CURRENT U-M sports.
