How much of a workout will Bucky Badger get on Saturday?

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Not all Michigan football fans are worried that Wisconsin will roll into Michigan Stadium and put up 83 points on the Wolverines, like the Badgers did last week against Indiana.

But you know what three guys are really worried? The ones who take turns wearing the Bucky Badger costume, with its 35-pound head. They combined to do 573 pushups over the course of that game.

How tired do you think Bucky's arms will get this week? Predict the outcome of Saturday's game and give us an idea:

Your analogies are nonsense. They imply two conclusions: 1) That Carr couldn't adjust to the times. He showed quite clearly that he could. He coached to his talent. 2) That Rodriguez is an improvement. The results suggest that he isn't. He would have to win 57 straight Big Ten games just to match Carr's Big Ten record after ten seasons.

Macabre Sunset: "My questions... why did we need to rebuild when we had the most successful long-term program in football history?" My questions: 1. Why did we need to replace the 57 Chevy when we had one of the most awesome vehicle ever built? 2. Why do we need to keep making computers smaller and smaller and TVs flatter and flatter when it was just fine to use the ones we had? Whether or not RR is the right man for the change that was needed, Michigan football needed a change in this modern football era.

After more thought, the true person to blame here is God. For, he is the one responsible for all the defensive secondary injuries. If it weren't for God, this team would be cruising on it's way to the magical 14 win amount needed for Rich to keep his job. Fire God! Hire Jimmy Harrrrbaugghhh!!1! (spittle flies all over the place)

The marvelous thing about a joke with a double meaning is that it can only mean one thing.

Macabre Sunset

Rich, the joke is essentially that the mascot will get tired while the team plays against the robust defense of Rich Rodriguez. If Michigan's defense were even average, you could expect 60-70 pushups over the course of the afternoon. So when you ask how tired, you're joining in on the joke that Rodriguez has made out of our school. Marshall, we got it the first time. My questions... why did we need to rebuild when we had the most successful long-term program in football history? And why should we have confidence that Rodriguez can win games at the Big Ten level?

Listen guys....my self esteem is DIRECTLY correlated to how Michigan does in football. If they don't win 14 games this year, I don't know if I can go on any longer. Hire Les Miles or Jim Harbaugh right now, even if neither are interested. Just hire them please. Hire them. I can't handle slight adversity while the team is rebuilding. HIRE THEM!!!!!1!!1!

Remember this is senior week, and these are Coach Carr era recruits, who choose to stay, Bo would have been proud of their loyalty. LB Jonas Mouton CB James Rogers LB Mark Moundros LB Obi Ezeh OL Stephen Schilling OL John Ferrara OL Perry Dorrestein TE Martell Webb DT Greg Banks DT Renaldo Sagesse DE Adam Patterson CB Troy Woolfolk, lets hope his rehab goes well, and he chooses to return next year. Thank you Michigan seniors for your loyalty, and hard work, you have insured your future success. Lets pray Coach Rich can restock the Cupboard with recruits as talented, and dedicated as these seniors. GO BLUE!

Madame Applewhite said "Instant gratification! I will not tolerate any type of rebuilding or improvement!" Exactly! Especially when there is none of neither, and both were unnecessary.

What does "After three years of recruiting" mean? Do you know that national signing day is in February? Coach Rich took over in 2008, and most of the recruiting for the 2008 freshmen class was already done before he took over.

Right, guys. I think the newcomers to Ann Arbor are simply unaware of our team's history. There was no reason to rebuild. And there's no reason to believe that Rodriguez can turn the innate Michigan recruiting advantage into a team that can consistently challenge for the Big Ten title. It wasn't broken, so it didn't need fixing. But what we have now is broken. If Rodriguez lands us.500 or below in the Big Ten for a third straight season, something that hadn't happened since 1967, he has failed and deserves to be fired. It's as simple as that. Really, only an OSU or MSU fan should want Rodriguez to stay here at this point.

Marshall you must be a MSU fan. You're right Michigan fans are a little spoile. Many aren't happy about a new coach taking a team that won 8-10 games every year, blowing it up and going 3-9, 5-7, and what looks like a 7 win team this year (outside chance to win 8, very outside) with the worst defense in the history of the program. If having poor teams that can't beat top tier teams is what programs wanted MSU would still have John L. Smith as the coach.

The real question is: After three years of recruiting, why are we hearing that the problem is that there are so many freshmen on defense? Where are all those recruits from 2 and 3 years ago?

There is no hate involved, just facts. Wisconsin is a top ranked team with the credentials to back it up. They have the best running game in the conference. They have a very good defense. They beat Ohio State. They have a balanced offense. They are deep in personnel. They are a better team. They are what Michigan used to be. Payback for 22 losses out of the last 27 games will be costly. Wisconsin 52, Michigan 21.

I see the haters are feeling confident in a Michigan loss; they seem nearly giddy with hate in anticipation of their long predicted Wisconsin win.

That's very positive coming from Rodgers. Let's take the worst defensive performance in post-war Big Ten history, and use that as a benchmark. Ah, the beautiful dreams we can create when we lower expectations. Next week, he can guarantee that Ohio State won't win by more than 55 points.

good point Macbre...the M truly now stands for Mediocre...as in 6th place in the BT or worse...and worse than that, there is a big faction of so called Michigan fans that accept this Mediocrity. Thanks Rich Rod.

However, If 537 is the Betting line, ill put 10 bucks on the Under. Im standing behind James Rodgers's comment I guarantee theyre not going to score 83 points on us,

Macabre Sunset

This is a prime example of how much Rich Rodriguez has hurt Michigan football. We are now making jokes about how many points opponents will score against his defense.

I just saw that video on Youtube, the one where One of us michigan fans jumped down and was eye to eye with brutis, then WHAMO some dude lays him out flat. Eek. But in that video where Ohio U mascot makes a go at brutis, Brutis actually makes a fool of Roufus (Bobcat Mascot) side stepping him and knocking his head off at mid field, and it wasn't until brutus jogs into the end zone that Roufus grabs him from behind and starts to wrestle him. Its hilarious cus the Ohio State players are like "Aaaah Brutus can take care of this fool"

Here's another idea: Hire the ex-Ohio University mascot guy, dress him up in a Wolverine costume, and every time Bucky tries to do the push-ups, WHAMO. Problem solved.
