Ohio State beat writer: 'I'll take Michigan by about a touchdown'

By AnnArbor.com Staff

They're talking about the Ohio State at Michigan football game in Ohio, and analysts sound convinced that the Wolverines' 8-2 record is legit.

Chuck Yarborough and Branson Wright, on their regular "Starting Blocks" video on Cleveland.com spoke with Cleveland Plain Dealer beat writer Doug Lesmerises about the rivalry game (Saturday, noon, ABC/ESPN).

A few of the comments:

"Michigan is just going to clean their clocks." — Yarborough.

"It's hard to realistically pick Ohio State to win this game." — Lesmerises.

"I'll take Michigan by about a touchdown at this point." — Lesmerises.

This is our year and if the Ohio beat writers are pessimistic about their chances, let's hope it plays out. Michigan advantages: 1) Home game 2) Momentum and confidence coming off the last two wins 3) Said confidence and momentum a result of peaking at the right time, showing improvement on both sides of the ball 4) Michigan defense should rattle the Freshman QB for the buckeyes 5) Michigan fan base excitment, the stadium should be as loud as ever for this game GO BLUE!!!

Hearing these three media guys support Michigan gives me a good feeling about the professionalism of that state - could it be there are good ohioans (ha,ha) ? Me, I'm a lifer - I'll believe, pick and support the Wolverines, EVERY TIME ! MgoBlueForTiM.......Wolverines picked to win, all day long

Yeah, well I'll take Michigan by 2 1/2 TD's, they have a pedestrian Offense with a Freshman at the helm. I can't wait to kick their behinds up and down the field, see how it is when you can't use ineligible players ohio?
