Tickets for Michigan football team's 2012 opener against Alabama to go on sale soon
Fans wanting to catch the first glimpse of the 2012 Michigan football team will soon have their chance.
The Michigan athletic department announced Wednesday that it will begin taking ticket orders "over the course of the next month" for the Wolverines' 2012 opener against defending national champion Alabama, a game that will be held on Sept. 1 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The athletic department will used a "phased approach" for ticket orders based on priority points earned by donors and season ticket holders.
Football lettermen will be able to purchase tickets starting Jan. 30, while non-contributing members of The Victors Club will be able to purchase tickets beginning Feb. 9.
Student season ticket holders can purchase a ticket for the Alabama game, which is being dubbed the "Cowboys Classic," as part of the regular away game process in April. There will be a limit of one ticket per student.
Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on Feb. 29.
According to MGoBlue.com, Michigan has an allotment of nearly 25,000 tickets for the Cowboys Classic, with prices ranging from $125-$285.
Fans can purchase tickets online at www.MGoBlue.com/tickets or by calling the ticket office at 866-296-MTIX or 734-764-0247.

You should attend a Michigan football game once - you will change your mind before the team comes out of the locker room.

Hey Ted, you're confusing U-M with MSU. If MSU was playing that game it would be 49-0, if ohio was in that game it would also be ugly as they're intimidated by SEC teams obviously, just want to clear that up for you, Ted.

College football is getting like the NFL. I like the game but prefer to stay home at those prices. For the "common folk" minor league baseball is the ticket. For $15 buck you can get a seat, beer and hot dog.
