U.S. National U-18, U-17 teams capture Four Nations titles
The Ann Arbor-based U.S. National Under-18 team and the U.S. National Under-17 team both maintained their control of Four Nations tournaments on Sunday.
The U-18 team beat Switzerland, 6-2, in Switzerland for its fourth consecutive Four Nations title. The U-18 squad won all three games it played. Nicolas Kerdiles led the U.S. team with five points in the tournament, and he scored twice Sunday against Switzerland.
Next for the U-18 team: Home games Friday (against Green Bay) and Saturday (against Tri-City) at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. Both games start at 7 p.m.
The U-17 team beat Russia, 5-0, in Russia on Sunday for its third consecutive Four Nations title. Like the U-18 team, the U-17 squad went 3-0 in the tournament. The U-17 team plays at the Ice Cube on Nov. 22 for a 7 p.m. game against the Waterloo Black Hawks.
