Did you feel it? Magnitude 3.8 earthquake in Kokomo, Indiana, gives Ann Arbor a gentle jostle

Did you feel it? At 7:55 a.m. today a magnitude 3.8 earthquake hit the Kokomo, Ind., area in the Wabash Valley. There were no reports of damage, but the quake could be felt from as far as 450 miles away. Several reports to the U.S. Geological Survey from Ann Arbor and Dexter of very weak shaking.

At 7:55:21 local time (12:55:21 GMT) a magnitude 3.8 earthquake hit the Kokomo, Indiana area. The Kokomo Tribune reports that residents of the north central Indiana town heard a "boom" and felt a rattle at 7:55 a.m. There were no reports of damage.

The US Geological Survey report for the quake includes a "shake map", based on citizen reports of quake intensity; according to the USGS, the quake was felt in Ann Arbor and in Dexter by a handful of people, with seven reports from Washtenaw County.

I think I felt it here on the Old West Side. I thought it was someone on the porch or a big truck going by.

Finally, yes, I did feel it in SW Saline, and it lasted maybe a few moments. Almost like a large truck was going by. Thanks for confirming that - I actually jumped on twitter and AA.com to see if someone posted about it - and when I didn't see much - dismissed it as maybe the cats jumping around :)

I didn't feel it but wasn't there another similar size earthquake last year? There's always seismic activity but he New Madrid Seismic Zone aka New Madrid Fault Line hasn't had a big one in quite a while
