We're a Web site with an intensely local mission. But part of being local is listening to the community, and one thing you've told us is that when it comes to sports coverage, you're very interested in Detroit sports teams.

So beginning today, we've added coverage of Detroit Tigers baseball to our Sports page, and we'll be adding coverage of the Lions as well.

The coverage comes from MLive, which we've had a special partnership with since we launched. Headlines from MLive's most recent stories on the Tigers now feed into our Sports page, and you'll find them in the rail on the right-hand side of the page. When you click on a headline, it takes you to the MLive story.

In addition, we've also begun a partnership with the Michigan Daily, the student newspaper at the University of Michigan.

Right now, that partnership means headlines from the Daily's coverage of Michigan football will appear on our Michigan football page. You'll find those headlines in the right-hand rail.

Looking ahead, our partnership with the Daily will expand. More of its coverage of news, sports and entertainment will appear on our site, and some of our coverage will appear on the Daily's site. We're developing a business partnership as well. We'll have more information on that as it develops.
