Ann Arbor area real estate data confirm first-quarter market rebound

By Paula Gardner

Industry data released this morning confirm what local Realtors reported last week: Home and condo sales in the Ann Arbor area continue to climb so far in 2010.

First quarter results from the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors show that the area generated $96.7 million in sales in the first quarter, up from $77.7 million in 2009.

Fueling much of that was March sales figures, with home sales growing 22 percent; condo sales growing 75 percent and average sale price improvement of about $10,000 as it rose to $164,600.

Much of the activity is in Ann Arbor, with significant March gains also shown in Chelsea and Dexter.

And here's a story from last week's Ann Arbor Business Review on how the market is changing so far this year.

Also, here's a story from early February where local industry experts gave their take on how the year could take shape.
