The journey of Ann Arbor's Arbor Brewing Co. into starting a franchise in India was an example used in a recent Wall Street Journal article about small businesses pursuing global connections.

The brewpub's owners Matt and Rene Greff - who announced in fall 2010 that they would open a franchise in Bangalore - are among a growing number of small business owners following the lead of big companies that are expanding internationally.

According to the article, "Like their larger counterparts, they are drawn by new markets that are often growing much faster than those at home."

And here is an AnnArbor.com report from fall on the multiple changes facing Arbor Brewing Co. this year.
