Incumbent David Read, who was running unopposed for a seat on the Scio Township Board of Trustees, won his Democratic primary Tuesday race with a total of 1,177 votes.
The 60-year-old Scio Township resident is a retired information technology manager and currently serves on the township's public safety committee and WAVE board.
Among the most critical issues Read cited as facing Scio Township are providing for adequate police and fire department staffing, acquiring road repair funding and providing appropriate infrastructure to attract business to the Jackson Road corridor.
