'Unknown' tops box office; Lady Gaga and Clarence Clemons; Michigan loses 'The Avengers'
"Unknown," a thriller starring Liam Neeson, took the top spot at the weekend box office.
It beat out "I Am Number Four," a teen-oriented science fiction tale that had high expectations going into the weekend.

• The Detroit Free Press reports that uncertainty over the future of Michigan's tax credit for film production has prompted the producers of the big-budget superhero movie "The Avengers" to go elsewhere.
• The Associated Press is wondering whether the nomination for "Exit Through the Gift Shop" will draw mysterious graffiti artist Banksy to the Academy Awards ceremony. (I'm guessing no.)
• Speaking of the Oscars, the Los Angeles Times' awards blog is wondering why there's no award for casting directors.
• Controversy over the potential Robocop statue in Detroit has led to a new charity drive.
MUSIC
• The Detroit News reports that management of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra is threatening to replace striking musicians.
• Rolling Stone is going crazy over Lady Gaga. They have a preview of several songs from her upcoming album. There's also an "exclusive" on how Clarence Clemons came to play on the new album. Oh, and Gaga thinks Marisa Tomei should play her in a movie.
• MLive reports on a great mashup of Radiohead's "Lotus Flower" and Beyonce's "Single Ladies" (Put a Ring On It)."
