Erin & Philip Stead remain at No. 1 for bestselling illustrated book

By Nicola Rooney

This list is compiled from actual sales at Independent Bookstores across the Midwest.

The No. 1 illustrated book for children, no surprises here, is "A Sick Day for Amos McGee" written by Philip Stead, and illustrated by Erin Stead. The Steads live in Ann Arbor, and the book won this year's prestigious Caldecott Award for the best Illustrated chidren's Book of the year, as chosen by the American Library Association.

If you have not yet seen this book, you are missing a delicately beautiful book with a heartwarming story of friendship and caring.
