If you don't look too closely—and especially not at the trees—Liberty Plaza in downtown Ann Arbor this morning looks more like January than June.

Filming is slated tonight in Liberty Plaza.

But the white stuff out there today is clearly fake snow—put in place by the production team for "Five Year Engagement," the romantic comedy starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt that has been filming around the Ann Arbor area for weeks.

The "snow" is in place for an overnight shoot planned to take place Friday night.

This will be a return visit to Liberty Plaza, at the corner of Liberty and Division streets, for "Five Year Engagement" shooting: The movie also filmed there in March—and at that time there was real snow on the ground.

The movie, directed by Nicholas Stoller and produced by Judd Apatow, has recently done other scenes with fake snow in both downtown Ann Arbor and downtown Ypsilanti.

They could pay the homeless to be extras, maybe fake snowmen.

Looks like quilt batting, but at least it won't melt in tonight's rain.

You could dump a truck full of horse manure on Liberty Plaza and it would be an improvement.
