WonderFool Productions recently announced dates for this year's FoolMoon and FestiFools events, as well as public workshops for those looking to get involved.

Both events are popular, annual, family-friendly public art events that invite community members to make giant handmade puppets/sculptures and participate in a street parade.

FoolMoon, now in its third year, acts as a Friday night prelude party to FestiFools, and puts luminary sculptures in the spotlight. This year's FoolMoon is scheduled for Friday, April 5, from dusk to midnight on Washington Street, between Ashley and Main, in Ann Arbor. Food and craft-brewed spirits will be available, along with shadow puppet performances, building-sized experimental films and other surprises.

This year's FoolMoon Luminary Workshops are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Sunday in March at Workantile, located at 118 South Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor. Workshops will be led by several local public-art artists, and the suggested donation for these workshops is $10.

Finally, FestiFools, now in its seventh year, is a parade that occurs on a Sunday, around the time of April Fool's Day, and features community volunteers and U-M students showing off their often-huge papier-mache art pieces, some of which interact with the crowd. This year's FestiFools will happen Sunday, April 7, from 4 to 5 p.m. on Main Street, between William and Washington in Ann Arbor.
