Great Big Sea returning to Michigan Theater; tickets on sale Friday

Popular Canadian acoustic-roots band Great Big Sea plans to play the Michigan Theater next April 16. Tickets go on sale Friday.

Based in Newfoundland, Great Big Sea plays a rowdy brand of original music using traditional instruments. The band has a dedicated following and has a particular affinity for Ann Arbor. They last played the Michigan in October 2010.

Tickets for the April show will cost $25 - $50, or $33.25 - $60.05 including service charges. A fan-club presale begins Tuesday, but tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, via Ticketmaster.com and other Ticketmaster outlets.
