Ypsilanti's Depot Town Merchants Association got the holiday weekend off to a festive start Friday evening with its first Drunken Santa Pub Crawl. The idea was to stop by a few classic Depot Town watering holes ... but participants were asked to dress like Santa Claus.

Sounds like Depot Town is becoming less and less family friendly. First the Krampus Ball celebrating a character that looks for a "particularly naughty child, it stuffs the child in its sack and carries the frightened child away to its lair, presumably to devour for its Christmas dinner" per Wikipedia and now this Drunken Santa event. As Sallyxz said, just ways to sell alcohol and at the expense of the biggest family holiday of the year. Sad to see Depot Town getting this low.

There are countless events that include children in Depot Town, tree lighting, Halloween candy give aways, doggie parade, Holiday parades at 4th and Heritage Fest...it is OK for adults to have a little fun sometimes too. The photos did not show a bunch of frats being irresponsible but adults having some fun.

This is just a way to sell alcohol and sell Fantasy Attic Santa hats. All about money by promoting the extreme behavior (getting drunk) of the frat crowd.
