Do you enjoy driving around town this time of year, looking at beautiful light displays?

AnnArbor.com is putting together a map of local holiday light displays to guide you on your winter wandering — but first we need some help.

We're asking readers to email us the approximate address of their favorite light displays, or list them in the comments, and we will add them to the map below.

We are also asking readers to send in photos of their own holiday decorations for our 2011 Deck the House virtual showcase (see last year's showcase gallery here).

Send a photo of your indoor or outdoor holiday display to community@annarbor.com, along with a brief description of what makes it special. Photos must be at least 1200 pixels wide.

We'll give readers a chance to vote on their favorites, and feature the favorite homes in a future print edition of AnnArbor.com.

Here's the map so far:

Depot Town in Ypsilanti is nicely down as are some of the houses as you continue driving eastbound on Cross St. and in the neighborhood just east of the park on Helen St. and some of the other smaller streets. Honk when you drive by! :-)

The home on Stone School Rd. between Packard and Eisenhower has looked holiday festive for many years. Best wishes to all.

Speaking of Prospect Park area, there is one on Helen St. that's brightly lit AND tasteful (i.e., no inflatable nativity scenes).

Agreed - AnnArbor.com, can this expand to Ypsi and the townships surrounding AA? There are lots of great light displays there, too!

Corner of Miller and Autumn Hill Drive, the south entrance to Walnut Ridge. Maybe the tallest decorated trees in the area?

"Holiday lights" isn't PC - it's accurate. I'm pretty sure not everyone putting up displays celebrates the Christian holiday. Lights at the dark time of year are associated with a lot of spiritual traditions, including the pagan celebrations of Saturnalia and/or solstic celebrations.

Then for which "holiday" did they put them up? Who readily admits that they put up lights for Festivus or Saturnalia? Well?

Hey...don't forget Festivus!

Lots of secular people put up lights. This time of year is about the solstice, which the religions borrowed from.

How many people purposefully put up: Christmas lights? ___ Hanukkah lights? ___ Kwanzaa lights? ___ any other sundry "holiday"? ___ I rest my case.
