Teenager charged with sexually assaulting patient at U-M's Mott Children's Hospital

By Lee Higgins

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in August at U-M's C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, where she was a patient.

Soumo Gorden Kennedy, who has no fixed address, was charged this morning with assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving force or coercion, Washtenaw County court records show.

University police said the woman was sexually assaulted about 9:40 p.m. Aug. 20 while she was in a room with at least one other patient. The victim came forward Sept. 20 to report the incident, police said.

Kennedy is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. at the Washtenaw County Jail.

His next address may be the corner of Cooper and Parnall in Jackson. Too bad it's in my neck of the woods...

I didn't know that Mott's Children's Hospital treated women. Then there is the obvious question, not addressed in this or the previous story... Any possible connection to or a ruling out of the on going serial predator case?
