Democrat Christine Green picks up endorsements in bid for 52nd District state House seat
Scio Township Democrat Christine Green picked up three major endorsements this past week in her bid for 52nd District state representative.
The AFL-CIO and Michigan’s 15th Congressional District Democratic Organization announced their support on Tuesday. The United Auto Workers also is endorsing Green.

“It is really an honor to be endorsed by these outstanding organizations,” Green said in a statement. “I believe these groups recognize my determination to create quality jobs and support businesses in Michigan.”
The UAW represents more than 150,000 workers in Wayne, Monroe, and Washtenaw counties. The AFL-CIO represents 600,000 current and retired workers statewide. Both organizations cited Green’s experience as a business owner and civil rights attorney as reasons for endorsing her.
Green says her campaign focuses on creating quality jobs, supporting Michigan businesses, environmental protection, and investment in education.
Having served on the Scio Township Board of Trustees, the Scio Township Planning Commission and the Michigan Environmental Council, Green says she has strong experience working in a nonpartisan manner with the voters’ best interests in mind.
“It’s imperative that Michigan legislators set aside their party differences and work to make Michigan a state with fair-paying jobs,” Green said. “We also need to ensure our students are getting the education they’ll need for those jobs.”
Green is running in the 52nd House district, which represents the western part of Washtenaw County and part of the city of Ann Arbor. She and her husband Philip live in Scio Township. They have two grown daughters and one grandson.
Green is seeking to replace incumbent state Rep. Pam Byrnes, D-Lyndon Township, who is term-limited and running for state Senate. Green faces off against fellow Democrats Jeffrey Lee and Robert Wozniak in the Aug. 3 primary.
The winner faces Republican Mark Ouimet, a Washtenaw County commissioner and former Ann Arbor City Council member, in the November general election.

Is this the same Christine Green who is a trial lawyer who defended a disgruntled UM employee in a frivilous lawsuit against UM? You bet it is and we do not need the female Geoff Feiger anywhere near Lansing! Oh, by the way, she was lost the case to Bulldog Masson.

Well, at least I know who not to vote for! With statements like" strong experience working in a nonpartisan manner with the voters best interests in mind" while getting the backing of the AFL-CIO, Michigans 15th Congressional District Democratic Organization and the United Auto Workers. Sounds partisan to me!
