Westbound M-14 reopened after downed power lines cleared

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Highway M-14 is reopened in both directions after DTE workers cleared power lines from the roadway that were brought down by high winds.

While eastbound M-14 had one lane open for traffic, westbound M-14 was completely closed and traffic was diverted to exit at Main Street.

A high wind warning is in effect until 4 a.m. Thursday.

Oops. Found the article about the transformer fire at Maple & Liberty just a little too late. Sorry 'bout that!

Does anyone know why the power went out on the west side (Stadium near Liberty) around 6:00pm? There were some sky-filling flashes that looked like they had a point source at ground level (i.e. not lightening) slightly to the west of that area, and I'd love to know what they were.

Is there any way to tell whether repair crews are working on it? Or how long the outage will be?
