For Lincoln football coach Chris Westfall, becoming an athletic director has always been his dream job.

At Monday’s Lincoln school board meeting, trustees are expected to approve making that dream a reality.

Westfall has served since August as the interim AD at Lincoln High School, after former AD Eve Claar left to become the athletic director for Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.

Lincoln Superintendent Ellen Bonter will recommend to the board that Westfall be permanently hired to the position. Claar, who had been with Lincoln schools for about five years, made a total of about $86,000 during the 2011-12 academic year, Bonter said.

The salary offered to Westfall was not immediately available on Monday.

Westfall began his professional career in corporate America, he told AnnArbor.com in a previous article. He recently obtained a teaching degree and has been working at Lincoln schools as a substitute teacher as often as he can.

He said his plan was to teach for a while, but “(Athletic director) has always been the ideal job.”
