Gas prices in Ann Arbor area drop for second week in a row

Michigan motorists are getting some relief at the pump as gas prices continue a downward slide. AAA Michigan reports that prices are down 16.1 cents across the state this week. That follows last week's drop of 23.3 cents.

Ann Arbor motorists are paying some of the highest prices in the state, however. The current statewide average is about 3.722, 92.4 cents more than last year, the auto club said. In Ann Arbor, the average is $3.77, down about 17 cents from last week’s average of $3.937. Last year, the Ann Arbor average was $2.834.

The average for self-serve regular fell 13.4 cents in Metro Detroit over the past week, with the average also at $3.722 per gallon. The Metro Detroit average is 90.6 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.

Drill baby drill. Why send 2 billion to Brazil to help them drill and boast how we will be one of their best customers when we can drill here? Oh yeah, it's bad for the environment here but OK if our tax dollars are used over there?????? And politically our dear leader owes a few favors. Read the Wall Street Journal for more info. I don't think John Daly or Steven Colbert will cover this, if they did it would be funny at least...........

Diesel is much cheaper near Detroit that this part of the state-- filled up last week for 3.80 ,and it is between 3.98 and 4.09 around here .

It seems that the gas stations on the west side have not heard the news, as they are $.15 to $.20 per gallon higher than other parts of Ann Arbor.

I had noticed that Pilot and the other gas stations on Baker Road have not been listed as among the cheapest gas stations on annarborgasprices for awhile, like they always used to.

It sure is a good thing the City raised the taximeter rates to $2.50/mile to help offset the rising prices at the pump!
