A man who died Wednesday after a motorcycle crash in Scio Township has been identified as 21-year-old Nathan Joel Meier, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

Meier, who lives in the township, was traveling on West Huron River Drive west of East Delhi Road at a high rate of speed about 1:26 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control, deputies said.

Meier was taken by ambulance to the University of Michigan Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Nate, You will be missed dearly about alot of your co-workers. I will miss how you used to make fun of uniform. I would change into shorts after my shift was over and he would say that's not part of your uniform. Just Friday I was talking to you in the parking lot and we laughing and joking around. We told eachother good bye afterwards. This is not the good bye that I wanted. I miss not having you around. I know that are now someone's guardian angel. R.I.P Nathan. April

I have to take issue with AnnArbor.com's policy of inserting ads in the middle of stories. I always thought it was fairly odd placement when there is usually a lot of unused real estate on the left side of the page. Why in the middle of a very sad story you would insert an ad about "getting hired" is more than strange. That being said, I wish to offer my sincere condolences to the family.

He will always be remembered for enjoying life at it's fullest. It will be very hard to bury my nephew, your son. There is comfort that he will be with Jesus. For his parents, my thoughts, my prayers, in this "your hardest thing that you have ever done." Remember to pray for strength and forgiveness.
