Matthaei Botanical Gardens horticulturalist explains the changing colors of fall

By Joseph Tobianski

Last week, we gave you a list of our top places to photograph the colors of autumn around Ann Arbor.

Looking out over the tree lined horizon of Ann Arbor we started to think back to the days of grade school and the science behind the changing of the seasons. To get a refresher, we took a morning stroll with the Matthaei Botanical Garden Horticultural Manager Mike Palmer, who talked about the color change, why your pine tree isn't really dying and more.

Send us your fall photos here and be entered for a chance to win two tickets to see the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

I agree. This is the most interesting thing I've seen on this site in three weeks. More of this. Less "news" about new stores opening in the mall.
