Jack, a 14 year old is likely in high school. Unless she homeschools, there is no reasonable way to watch her daughter all the time. If the daughter was 4 years old it would be different.

Trust me I know. 4 is a lot different then 14. Once they hit 14? Give em a cell phone and tell em to call home every 2 hours. Just to be safe.

Watch your kids. Be a parent.

Kids can disappear in seconds, Jack. If you have not experienced that, count yourself as very lucky. And don't be so judgemental of other parents who are not so lucky.

This is a tremendous relief! Too many times stories like this one end in tragedy. Great work to the AnnArbor.com reader who provided the tip!
