OPINION: Domino's Pizza needs to adapt humane practices for farm animals
I’m shocked to learn that Domino’s Board of Directors recommended its shareholders vote against a request that would help the pizza chain stay in step with other major food franchises like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King - all of which are moving away from cruel confinement practices.
Pigs used to make pepperoni, ham, and sausage for Domino’s are confined in small cages for their whole lives. Domino’s needs to stop burying its head in the sand and take a step in the same, more humane direction other major companies are going in.
