Pittsfield Township police say thefts continue from coin-operated washing machines
A rash of coin thefts from washing machines and dryers continued last week in Pittsfield Township, police say.
The thefts from the coin-operated machines occurred again at Evergreen Apartments in the 3000 block of Woodland Hills Drive on two separate occasions, police said.
On both Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, management at the apartment complex off Packard Street reported someone damaged the coin-operated laundry machines, and coins were taken, police said.
No suspects have been identified.
On Sept. 14, employees at Evergreen Apartments said someone attempted to steal the change from at least six coin-operated washing machines.
And on Sept. 14-15, coin-operated washing machines and dryers were damaged on three occasions at Glencoe Hills apartments, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call township police at 734-944-4911.

@thieves Come on how do you expect to get anywhere in life if you don't set your sights higher and aspire for more? I mean talk about the petty in petty theft!

Park Place (another McKinley property) had the same thing happen to pretty much all washers and dryers not too long ago. They just switched to a prepaid system this week.

These 3 events are all at McKinley owned properties. I know of several McKinley properties that don't use coins for the laundry room. Instead, they use a prepaid card type of system.
