Plea deal entered in domestic stabbing on Ann Arbor's west side

By Art Aisner

An Ann Arbor woman who stabbed a man in the chest during a dispute last month pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic violence charges, records show.

Endia Jones, 33, will be sentenced to an added felony charge next month, but avoids prosecution on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon, court records show.

Jones was arrested after she and a friend drove the 34-year-old man to the hospital on April 21. Police said she stabbed the man with a knife during a fight in a home on Dicken Drive at about 2:45 a.m. The man survived and is recovering.

Jones remains in custody at the Huron Valley Women’s Facility for violating parole on a bank robbery conviction in Flint, prison records show.

Really? I thought there was no excuse for violence...ever...even in defense of oneself or one's loved ones. Good to know...

and does MPRI play into this? Did she get those benefits? 2:45 in the morning? Was there alcohol or other drugs involved? 201 pounds, sounds like a big lady! a 400,000 prison number, sounds like she has some criminal history in her past besides the bank robbery. Anyone at annarbor.com willing to pay the state ichat site to run her state history?

Well...actually not quite back to the pencil. A sharpenned pencil can be a great improvised weapon BUT it's primary purpose is still to write. A kitchen knife's primary purpose is to cut. It's not really an improvised weapon in this case, it is inherently a weapon as Bear indicated the only seperation is intent.

umm...yes rediculous as in sarcasm. But as long as we are on the topic; "Doesn't constitute as a weapon until used as such." WAS USED AS SUCH, therefore, felon in posession of a deadly weapon in the commission of a crime is both true and appropriate.

Hey ricebrnr, you can stab someone with a kitchen knife. Doesn't constitute as a weapon until used as such. Your statement is ridiculous. I get the feeling you are clueless as to what "progressive" means.

On parole for a bank robbery conviction??? That's a felony also isn't it? How oh how did a convicted felon get their hands on a weapon??? Why oh why don't criminals respect the laws??!??! One more example of how polite criminals are in Ann Arbor....they leave when you ask them and drive you to the hospital if you are injured. Such progressive criminals, how lucky are we!
