Drugs stolen from Saline Pharmacy in weekend break-in

By Kyle Feldscher

A break-in at the Saline Pharmacy early Saturday morning resulted in several containers of drugs being stolen, according to a report on Patch.com.

The website reported police responded to an alarm at the store, 75 E. Bennett, just before

5 a.m. Saturday. The suspects broke into the store by opening a front door and then jumped a counter where Oxycontin and Hydrocodone used to be stored.

The owner told police those drugs were no longer in that spot and the drugs that were stolen had minimal street value.

OBAMACARE PLAN : We may have to connect this crime story with the story about providing health care to all Washtenaw residents without health insurance. If this individual had health insurance, probably he or she would have been prescribed the drugs the person needs desperately and we could have prevented this act of crime. This individual may be having a pre-existing condition and hence could not buy health insurance or may not be able to afford to purchase an expensive insurance policy. What could be the nature of that pre-existing medical condition? Could we include the deficiency of moral nature as a pre-existing condition? Would Obamacare provide a cure for moral or spiritual sickness?

Using "Patch.com"/AOL for Crime Blotter stories now. Wondering out loud why every single crime in Ypsilanti/Ypsilanti Township has no issue at all being on the first crawl row of Ann Arbor.com with pictures of the suspects in plain view....but for crimes in Saline or other places outside of Ypsi/Ypsi Twp. and in some cases A2...we (as readers) only see a file photo along with a third party story from Patch.com/AOL....

Monica R-W- In my opinion, this comment is a gross misrepresentation of my crime coverage of the Saline area. I make it a point to go down to the police station and comb through police reports, usually twice a week. In this particular instance, Patch.com happened to report this incident before I did and so I chose to cite their report. There are plenty of examples of stories about incidents that occur in Saline, Pittsfield Township, Ann Arbor and other parts of the county that are originally reported and include pictures of the suspects, as they are provided by police. To suggest anything else is unfair and, honestly, insulting.

Similar incidents in Addison and Blissfield in Lenawee County within the past few days. Wonder if they are connected?

Seems to be lots of desperate drug users out Saline way. Wonder where the red-light district will set up? Probably next to the pawn shop.

See, this is what happens when you legalize pharmaceutical drugs!

Where are the commenters who want to ban medical marijuana every time a dispensary is robbed?

I think marijuana should be legal. Sure would make it easier to find a job if I ever had to. If you have ever noticed, people who smoke pot generally dont come off as intelligent.

They've only been open a year and already had 3 break-ins? Hmm...

No other pharmacies in Saline have been robbed that is.

SCFFB

They only reopened last july. And the point is, especially with different management, that it has been broken into 3 times now. No other pharmacies have been broken into in the last year. It was last broken into in December, not a year ago. Patch didn't double check their facts.

It doesn't say they have only been open a year. It says they were broken into a year ago in the PATCH>COM/AOL story.

That has been a Pharmacy for years , reopened under new management I assume.
