The resignation was effective immediately, and the board is looking to fill the position as soon as possible, according to a news release.

When Idzikowski was hired in June, Saline Main Street said she would be responsible for coordinating downtown revitalization activities, promoting public awareness of the organization and acting as a liaison to other government and community organizations.

Saline was chosen earlier this year as the 17th Michigan Main Street Community, which is meant to create opportunities for redevelopment, placemaking and economic growth. The nonprofit Saline Main Street was created in response to that.

Idzikowski was chosen from a pool of 30 applicants who applied for the opening.

“Kelly just realized that this really wasn't a good fit for her,” Chairwoman Cindy Czbuko told the Saline Reporter in an email.

The Main Street board is made up of volunteers. They do not receive pay, and do not get money from property taxes. I have never heard of someone resigning and getting pay, bonuses, and severance pay. It clearly states in the article that this person resigned because it was not a good fit for her. How can anyone come to conclusions that the job description was not written correctly the first time? Havn't you ever been excited for a new job and it not be what you expected?

I hope that this job description is better written for the future. And, are any of the other applicants still available?

Does the pay for these people (Main Street Board) come from property taxes? And if so, did this person leave with nothing but 4 months of pay? As in no sign-on bonus, no severance, etc.?
