Washtenaw County school closings

Several Washtenaw County schools had closed Friday as a result of a winter storm expected to dump 3 to 5 inches of snow on the area. This list will be updated throughout the morning:

Closed schools include:

  • Arbor Prep High School, Ypsilanti.
  • Calvary Christian Academy, Ypsilanti
  • Central Academy, Ann Arbor
  • East Arbor Academy, Ypsilanti.
  • Eastern Washtenaw Multicultural Academy, Ypsilanti
  • Father Gabriel Richard High School, Ann Arbor.
  • Fortis Academy, Ypsilanti.
  • Go Like the Wind Montessori School, Ann Arbor
  • Huron Valley Catholic School, Ypsilanti
  • Little Lamb Nursery and Kindergarten, Ann Arbor.
  • St. Francis of Assisi, Ann Arbor.
  • Spiritus Sanctus Academy, Ann Arbor.
  • Victory Academy, Ypsilanti
  • Washtenaw Christian Academy, Saline.

At best the roads were wet. When did they start closing school based on what a meteorologist says as opposed to actually looking outside and seeing what really happened.

these are all religious schools, it's probably all the better that these students are spared one day of the indoctrination.

I knew we would not get this snow what with the warm weather we have had. Plus with a lot of schools out on mid winter break it makes it easier to get the roads cleaned up.

It's more like the public school districts are on winter break this week anyway. These schools were in session. Given that there have been no snow days this year to date (and today's a Friday), why not?

"dump 3 to 5 inches of snow on the area" I resent the use of the word "dump" in connection to 3-5 inches of snow. How about we save 'dump" for something closer to double digits like 9-12 inches.
